Yesterday, we hosted a conference at CEOE headquarters to examine the impact of European pay transparency legislation on the Human Resources function, as well as the current status of its transposition into national law.

The event was opened by Rosa Santos, Director of Employment, Diversity and Social Protection at CEOE, and Martín Godino, Managing Partner of Sagardoy. Both speakers highlighted the strategic importance of this issue in the current business environment and stressed the need for organisations to prepare proactively for the regulatory changes ahead.

The programme continued with a technical session focused on the European Pay Transparency Directive and its implications for HR. The speakers included Gemma Fabregat, Professor of Labour Law at the University of Valencia and Of Counsel at Sagardoy; Montserrat Alonso, Partner at the firm; and Manuel López Franco, Director of Organisational Strategy and Reward Consulting at Sagardoy. The discussion addressed key topics such as new obligations relating to pay information, job evaluation systems, and the challenges associated with the practical implementation of the legislation.

Following an engaging discussion with attendees, the event continued with a panel debate exploring the application of these measures from a business perspective. José Ángel López Palomo, Compensation and Benefits Director at Santalucía, and Soledad Sánchez, Head of Employee & Labour Relations Iberia at Johnson & Johnson, took part in the discussion, which was moderated by Martín Godino. The panellists shared their views on the operational and cultural challenges involved in advancing pay transparency, as well as the best practices already being implemented within their organisations.

The conference concluded with a networking session, providing attendees with the opportunity to exchange views and further discuss the issues raised throughout the event.

Through initiatives such as this, Sagardoy reaffirms its commitment to supporting organisations in anticipating and managing the most significant workplace and employment challenges. By providing rigorous analysis and practical guidance, the firm helps businesses navigate regulatory developments that have a direct impact on people management.
