Sagardoy recently hosted a new Open Day for students completing their postgraduate legal training, giving them the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the realities of legal practice. The event brought together professionals from across the firm, who shared their experience, career journeys and perspectives on a profession that continues to evolve, in an informal setting designed specifically for the students.
Iñigo Sagardoy, Chairman of Sagardoy, opened the event by highlighting the values that have underpinned the firm’s growth for more than four decades, as well as its commitment to excellence, talent development and innovation in employment law.
Martín Godino, Managing Partner, offered a practical and realistic perspective on the legal profession, addressing the main challenges lawyers face in their day-to-day work, the importance of continuous professional development and the value of supporting companies in strategic decision-making in an increasingly complex environment.
The session continued with Ana Godino, Partner at Sagardoy, who focused on the skills that are essential for professional development. In her presentation,“The skills that make the difference”, she highlighted the importance of communication, critical thinking, teamwork, adaptability and a client-focused approach. These skills complement technical legal expertise and help professionals build strong and distinctive careers.
Nerea Martín, lawyer at Sagardoy, closed the session by sharing her experience as a recent addition to the firm. She spoke about her first steps in a specialist law firm, the learning process, the initial challenges she encountered and the opportunities for professional growth offered by Sagardoy.
The event concluded with an after-work gathering on Sagardoy’s rooftop terrace, offering attendees a relaxed opportunity to speak with lawyers and professionals from different areas of the firm, ask questions about the profession and gain a closer understanding of Sagardoy’s culture, how the firm operates and what day-to-day life at the firm is like.
