Royal Decree 126/2026, of 18 February, establishing the minimum interprofessional wage for 2026. Published in the Official State Gazette on 19 February 2026
Royal Decree 126/2026, of 18 February, establishing the minimum interprofessional wage for 2026, was published in the Official State Gazette on 19 February 2026. The new amounts represent an increase of 3.1% compared with those set out in Royal Decree 87/2025, of 11 February, which established the minimum interprofessional wage for 2025.
In accordance with Article 1, the minimum interprofessional wage for any activities in agriculture, industry and services, without distinction based on the sex or age of workers, is increased by 37 euros per month – or, in other words, 518 euros per year – compared with the amount in force in 2025 (€1,184 per month / €16,576 per year).
With the 3.1% increase, the minimum wage for 2026 is set at €1,221 per month, €40.70 per day and €17,094 gross per year, on an annual basis.
Only remuneration in cash is included in the minimum wage, and payment in kind may not, under any circumstances, reduce the full cash amount. This wage refers to the legal working day applicable to each activity and, in the case of the daily amount, does not include the proportional part of Sundays and public holidays. If a shorter working day is performed, it will be paid on a pro‑rata basis.
