Our firm

Since its foundation in 1980, Sagardoy Abogados has been continuously engaged in legal practice, offering our corporate clients a wide range of legal services in the area of human resources, both in terms of legal advice and litigation assistance.

Throughout the last two decades, our firm has undergone significant growth and currently boasts over 70 lawyers who are specifically and exclusively dedicated to employment and labour law issues.

In addition, aware of the need to have global reach in order to offer our clients international services, Sagardoy Abogados became a founding member of Ius Laboris (International Employment Law, Pensions and Employee Benefits Alliance), an association comprised of leading firms specialised in human resources and employment and labour law in Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, the USA, France, the UK, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Sweden, amongst other countries.

We have a commitment to society, to our clients and to each and every one of the people that are part of our law firm. The aim behind our work is that our professional activity positively impacts and improves our surroundings.

There have been countless instances that support this commitment throughout our many years of professional experience.

On the one hand, we conduct our professional activity always bearing in mind the code of conduct imposed by our ethos.

On the other hand, we believe that it is our duty as a law firm to contribute our professional experience to society. This is the reason why the Sagardoy Foundation, currently known as the Sagardoy Business&Law School, was created in 2003 with the primary purpose of conducting and delivering independent research, professional training, opinion, and distribution of information on matters related to the employment market. In addition, almost all of our lawyers cooperate with different universities in training future lawyers, both in terms of technical skills and those principles that must lead professional practice.

Since the very beginning of our professional activity we have provided pro bono legal assistance to many third sector organisations which, due to their lack of resources to engage reliable legal advice, have reached us to request our altruistic cooperation.

We have often contributed our expertise to public and private programmes aimed at improving people’s lives.

 

With the purpose of channelling all these activities and achieving true efficiency, in June 2018 we set up, together with a network of equally committed law firms, the Pro Bono Spain Foundation, where Sagardoy Abogados is a member of the Board of Trustees. The Foundation’s goals, as set out in its articles of association, are as follows:

To enable access to professional advisory services and specialised legal assistance to organisations or groups which, due to financial reasons or otherwise, may not be able to engage such services.

Offer all legal professionals a channel of effective participation with the common purpose of promoting justice and real equality of all citizens before the Law.

To offer law professionals a channel that enables them to effectively take part in the common purpose of promoting justice and true equality of all citizens before the law.

Sagardoy Abogados firmly believes that it is possible to improve our society through an ethical and responsible professional practice. We therefore promote a similar attitude to that of our professionals among our collaborators and engage individuals who partake in this vision to join our law firm.
