Martín Godino is Managing Partner of Sagardoy Abogados and Chairman of the board of directors of Sagardoy Business & Law School. 

With more than thirty years of experience at the Firm, his management role has always been fully compatible with leading and directly participating in a significant portion of the labor advisory processes for major Spanish companies, including the most relevant litigations, especially collective matters, as well as restructuring and transformation operations carried out in recent years. Martín Godino directly advises more than half of the companies in the IBEX 35 on labor matters, regularly contributing to the definition of medium- and long-term strategies and the development of general policies for relations with unions and other key stakeholders in the field of Labor Law.

He is actively involved in the associative sphere, notably serving as president of the Spanish National Association of Labor Lawyers (ASNALA) for six years until 2017, when he chose not to run for re-election, and was subsequently appointed Honorary President of the Association, the leading entity in the labor law sector.

He is also a founding partner and a member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Forum of Labor Lawyers (FORELAB).

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

For fourteen consecutive years, including in 2024, he has been recognized by the prestigious publication Chambers & Partners as a “Star Individual” in the Labor Law category. He has also received repeated recognition in recent years from Best Lawyers, Who’s Who, and The Legal 500 as one of the top specialist lawyers and a leader in labor law practice. In particular, in 2017, he was named one of the 30 Best Lawyers in the World by Euromoney magazine and was also awarded the Client Choice Award, a distinction given based on feedback from both Spanish and multinational companies with a significant presence in the market. He received this award in 2015, 2017, and 2019.

Additionally, he is a Corresponding Academic of the Royal Academy of Spanish Jurisprudence and Legislation (RAJYL) and was recently honored in 2021 with the “Cruz Distinguida de la Orden de San Raimundo de Peñafort” for his outstanding merits in the field of labor law.

PUBLICATIONS

Author of several books and publications on labor law and social security, including serving as the director, coordinator, and contributor to the collective work “Treatise on Collective Dismissal”, published by Tirant Lo Blanch.
