This week, Sagardoy hosted the launch of WorkétIcA, a máshumano Foundation initiative conceived as a pioneering forum to explore and address the ethical challenges arising from the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace and in people management.
The forum brings together executives, entrepreneurs, independent professionals, digital platforms and other key stakeholders, with the aim of fostering an ethical culture throughout digital transformation processes.
The event opened with a presentation by philosopher and ethics specialist Fátima Álvarez, who also coordinates the project. The máshumano Foundation’s leadership team were in attendance, including Beatriz Sánchez Guitián, Managing Director, Tomás Pereda, Deputy Managing Director and Iñigo Sagardoy, President.
A particular highlight of the meeting was the roundtable discussion entitled ‘What would happen if we were fired by an algorithm?’, which generated significant interest among attendees. Moderated by Santiago García, co-founder of the Future for Work Institute and member of the máshumano Foundation’s Ideation Circle, it featured leading professionals:
- Mar Garre, Director of People, Communication and Sustainability at Línea Directa Aseguradora;
- Carlos Rebate, Director of Transformation at the Securitas Group;
- Mercedes Águeda, Vice President and Director of Human Resources at Capgemini;
- Albert Cañigueral Bagó, Head of AI and Language Technology Development at the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre.
The WorkétIcA initiative was created to help organisations identify and address the ethical dilemmas linked to AI in the workplace. By providing tools for better decision-making, it encourages a broader and deeper ethical perspective in digital transformation.
